The Department undertakes public engagement activities to establish an ongoing dialogue and collaboration between its researchers and citizens, students, teachers, institutions, and local businesses, with the aim of fostering innovation and supporting the economic and social development of the region and the country.

There are several ways in which this objective is pursued:

• Promoting outreach initiatives on engineering topics and disseminating research results to reach a broad audience and effectively engage the socio-economic context
• Organizing and participating in Science Festivals, such as BergamoScienza, featuring hands-on workshops for young students and talks by internationally renowned speakers
• Organizing scientific education programs for schools
• Producing outreach materials presenting the results of research activities
