The Department undertakes and intends to undertake public engagement actions in order to establish an ongoing dialogue and collaboration between its researchers and citizens, students, teachers, institutions and businesses in the area and to foster innovation, economic and social growth of the local area and the country.
There are several ways to pursue this objective:
Promote information campaigns on engineering topics and share knowledge of research results to reach a wide audience and effectively involve the socio-economic context
Organise and participate in Science Festivals, such as BergamoScienza, with project workshops for young students and internationally renowned speakers and, in general, participate in public meetings organised by other parties (e.g. science cafés, night of the researcher, etc.).
Organise science education courses for schools
Produce material on the results of research activities, such as video clips, to be published on YouTube
Participate in committees to define standards and technical norms
Organise events to promote women in engineering and science and gender equality and diversity.
